There are two major stories crossing my Dashboard today, both involving YouTube. The first, of course, is the Jezebel travesty. The second is a video depicting a woman defending herself against her male attacker. Other people probably have said better things about this already, but it is no coincidence that both videos being passed around today depict violence against women of color. One as some kind of atrocity porn, and one as the set up to a punch line. Let’s not pretend for one second that these videos would have been given the same treatment if they depicted visibly white women.
