The Lornettes “Down the Block (And Right Up To Heaven)” (Gallio 110-B, 1966)
Although pretty much any girl group attempting some semblance of a Spector Soundalike was shooting themselves in the foot by early 1966, that didn’t stop obscure LA area group The Lornettes from trying.
They released a trio of singles over 6 months between October 1965 and April 1966, but their best offering has to be this Oasis in doom slightly Shangri-La’s like B-side from January of 1966.
