The Four Tops “Love Feels Like Fire” (From the LP Second Album, 1965)
You might be surprised to know that Levi Stubbs didn’t lead up every song The Four Tops sang at Motown.
Decidedly sounding like a marriage between Jackie Wilson and The Impressions, we have Lawrence Payton’s tangy tenor leading the group (plus Andantes) through a rather atypical Holland-Dozier-Holland production.
